Baby Wearing Part 1

Wearing Baby Bear works well for me, I haven’t been wearing him as much lately since he is getting bigger and I only have a moby wrap. He also plays really well on his own and loves to be independent. My kitchen is tiny and I cannot see him while I am cooking dinner so I usually try and wear him. We have been making due and I’ve been getting better at wearing him on my back.

There are numerous youtube videos and I would post them however each person is different and each person prefers one type of carry over another. One carry works well for me but not my friend. There are some links you can look through at the bottom of this post about detailed instructions as to how to heave your baby over your shoulder and some how tie them without dropping your baby or them falling out. It also works better for us that his legs hang down instead of wrapping around my waist this seems to help the secure factor as it really keeps the wrap tight around his back.

In the picture above the wrap is actually up to the base of his neck and the x is holding him in securely. Some people frown upon using a stretchy wrap for a back carry but for me this is what I have to work with and for now this is what we are going to do, I would never wear him in a wrap thats loose and I am on the hunt for a Ergo.

After trying an ergo I was so happy! It is much more comfortable than the wrap but these carriers are not cheap!

The Side carry is much easier to use and we walked around Ikea today and it worked great!

There is also the front carry which you can face in or out! Wyatt loved facing in when he was little and now that he is older he prefers facing out unless he is tired. This wrap was a lifesaver going through airports and while flying since he felt snug in his wrap and slept for 75% of the flights, and I could also have my arms free. Going through security was also a dream, I shouldve worn him the first time when i had to shove a stroller, car seat, back pack and other items through the scanner, alone while holding a crying baby and TSA agents staring at me. Thanks guys for your help! They confiscated my yogurt and made me walk back through the scanner. I stopped to nurse him sans snack I was going to eat those yogurt stealing jerks! and put him in the wrap. Instant quiet! the light bulb went off in my head! I still had to shove all his crap through but now i had two arms to do so. Much easier!

I still need to perfect the side carry. I only tried it that one day, but I know it would be helpful for grocery shopping. I am still freaked out over the back carry. We need to video chat it together.
