Getting through the airport.

I am a planner but a lackadaisical planner at that. I write down lists, loose the lists and start new ones only to find my old lists. I eventually compile them all into one major list to finish what I need to do before I leave. This time I am leaving with a relatively clean and organized apartment, which feels amazing! Everything is picked up, nothing is out of sorts. I have my bag mostly packed give or take a few things I can’t pack because I would wake up Baby Bear. It is a slow process but it gets done!

How do I get through the airport with a baby, a stroller, a car seat and a carry on? OH and a backpack? Well you are about to find out.

step 1. pack everything really well and sit on your carry on to make sure everything fits.
step 2. Figure out what you will immediately need on the plane besides the usual xanax (for those who are legally prescribed it), toys, diapers, lunch tote, and change of clothes at least two pairs since there will be two flights out. Chaos always reigns while in mid air. Expect the worst thing to happen and plan for it.
step 3. have laptop and clear quart sized bag of liquids out and ready to be put in the buckets. Put the carry on in first, that way you are not scrambling with the smaller items before the carry on comes through. that way you can add what you need to to the carry on. Then the car seat and depending on the size of the stroller put that through too.
step 4. Go through scanner.
step 5. Pack laptop in carry on UNDER your clothes so no one sees it should they decide to try and take your stuff. Pack everything back up that you will need on the plane.
step 6. Change baby and feed said baby before boarding. Prepare to have bottle sippy or boob at the ready for take off but especially landing.
step 7. Take care of yourself.
step 8. Find your gate and get tags for your cat seat and stroller and hopefully gate checking your carry on if you get lucky. Stuff car seat and stroller into bags so they do not get dirty.
step 9. Board the plane.
step 10. Survive trip.

Getting off the plane is much easier, this is where I learned a lot of patience to let every one else get off first so I could take my time getting everything together and not forgetting things.

tips and tricks- find a good bag to store the car seat if you are not made of money and have a lap baby.
bring a carrier of some kind.
have snacks at the ready!

See you later alligators!
