Future-isms.

Every day I wonder what will happen when I wake up. Sometimes I dread those mornings where I am all snuggled under the covers and a pillow over my head to be woken up by someone yelling at me. I lay in bed planning out our day and what the most pressing thing we need to do is. Most things get pushed the wayside while I lay on the floor with Baby Bear; watching him hunt down his blocks. Which must be carried around in twos, one for each hand. He is taking steps like crazy and I don’t see him slowing down any time soon. Tomorrow I will spend the day washing clothes, folding clothes, getting snacks, preparing the cats for our absence oh and cleaning my house so N won’t be confronted with nastiness.

I have everything planned down to how many pairs of underwear I am bringing. Baby Bear’s car seat will be attached to a luggage cart like so, I apologize for the crummy cell phone picture and the fact that it is sideways.

His diapers, my laptop and all but the bare essentials will go in the checked luggage. Hell to the no am I pulling out anymore electronics, liquids or food stuffs that I don’t have to through security. My goal is to have snacks, bottles, extra clothes and diapers in the backpack. The only other thing we will be bringing through security is his car seat and the bag for it. I decided to bring a stroller as well that will be checked. The Quinny Zapp is such a handy stroller to have. It comes with a bag as well so the stroller will not get dirty and It will be easy to maneuver through the conference. I will also be using a sling that a gracious mama will be bringing along with an ergo. This is where all the baby wearing moms say tsk tsk no need for a stroller just wear your baby! I love wearing him but I also love not sweating too.

The bag has wheels so i will just attach the stroller to it and pull both the car seat and the bag! This all sounds so easy in theory but the reality is that my stomach will be in knots. I will rush to get everything out of the car and forget something important. This is why I want to be packed a head of time so there will be no more shoving of things into bags last minute. Thank god for lists of what goes in what bag and how.

Here goes nothing!

It seemed like it ended up working out quite well to me. Having wheels on the car seat probably made getting to and from the airport a lot easier.

Your site is really, really cute!!! And your baby? So freaking adorable!!

How did traveling with baby turn out?

I’ve done it twice now (took the twin to Hawaii when they were 9mo & Nolan to New York when he was 18 months) – both times it was much worse in my head than in reality. It alwas surprises me how well it works out.
